Brigade History
- the Illawong RFS until recently was called the Illawong Bush Fire
Brigade. The first recorded meeting was held on 1st March 1957 when Fowler
Road was only a dirt track and Illawong was a river side bush retreat for
expanding Sydney. (This section is under construction & is not
yet available).
Training - Illawong RFS
prides itself on it's intensive practical and theoretical training. Bush
Fire fighting can be extremely dangerous and many hours on a Sunday morning
are spent practising the essential skills. (This section is under
construction).
