About Us ..
Illawong Rural Fire Services Brigade is among one of the oldest Rural Fire Service Brigades in the Sutherland Shire.
It was formed by concerned local citizens when Illawong had substantially more trees than houses and Fowler Road was still a dirt track.
Since then the Brigade has grown and expanded.
Members are trained to high standards in Bush Fire Fighting techniques. Additional training is also done in Advanced Fire Fighting , Structural Fire Fighting, First Aid as well as use of Breathing Apparatus equipment.
Illawong Brigade is equipped with 2 modern 4wd fire fighting trucks and 1 Landcruiser personnel carrier.
