Steven wentt to spend a week of his summer holidays with his cousins in Calgary.
It was decided that everyone would go to Calaway Park for a day of fun. So early that morning Steven, his 5 cousins, 1 brother and a friend headed out for a day of fun at Calaway Park.
They were all having a great time. They went on all the rides that by reputation should make one lose their lunch
(and some of them did by the way.)
Through out the next week Steven and his group would play many games of basketball.
Sometimes the game got a little rough.
"Must have pulled a stomach muscle" Steven thought. There was still
that stabbing pain in his right abdomen. Only the stabbing pain was more frequent now and
intense.
Steven returned home from his little holiday happy and full of stories about
the awesome rides at Calaway, how his cousin Jen lost her lunch on one ride and stories about
the many games of basketball they all had. He had a wonderful time, except for that annoying little pain on his right side.
"I really must have pulled a muscle", Steven said. I'm getting more sore every day".
The pain in Steven's side had moved into his back. Every day the pain grew a bit worse. He
still had lots of energy, but he couldn't really eat. When he would eat he felt like he would be sick.
On the way to the hospital a car came from behind us. It began swerving, going from side to side. As it had just about passed us it began to cross
back over onto our side of the road. That would have been alright except, it was going to come through us!
It was a narrow road and there was no where for us to go. The only option open was to swerve up onto the curb. In doing that we would most
surely hit a power pole.
My husband Ron sounded the horn of the car. After what seemed like an eternity (but was only a split second) the driver of the other car finally looked over his shoulder.
He jerked back into his own lane. Undaunted, the driver continued to dodge his way on down the road reclessly dodging in and out of traffic.
Finally we arrived at the hospital where Steven was taken up to the
operating room. Two hours later we were able to talk to Dr. Hardy, the surgeon who had
operated on our son.
Dr. Hardy told us:
Most people recouperate from appendicitis and are able to go home ater surgery in about 3 days.
Steven however, will be at least 7 days in the hospital"
Nine days later we were able to bring Steven home. He had lost 15 pounds.
The clothes that he wore into the hospital that day now hung on him like they were 2 sizes to big.
"This is the strangest case of appendicitice I have ever seen. The reason your doctor couldn't feel the swelling that accompanies appendicitis is because the appendix had curled backwards
and had tucked it's self in behind the large intestine. All the swelling was in the back instead of in front.
The appendix had indeed ruptured and had been leaking poison into Stevens body for many days. Not much longer and it would
have burst. The really odd thing about that" Dr. Hardy said, "is that appendicitis takes only 2 to 3 days
to manifest it's self to the point that the patient is in extreme pain. Steven however, has had appendicitis for 10 days maybe longer. For a good deal of that time it has been leaking poison into
Steven's body. To have appendicitis for that long is just unheard of."
It is obvious that satan tried to kill Steven. It was a sneaky tactic the way he caused the appendix to curl backwards and "hide" in behind the intestine so that it went undected, all the while causing it to leak poison into Steven's body.
Steven is going to be a mighty warrior for God and I guess satan wanted him out of the way.
As I thought on all these things that had happened, some scriptures came to my mind.
but Jesus is
No where in the Bible are we promised a "rose garden" life. But we do have a risen Saviour, a Mighty God Who loves us, see's what we are going threw and is always with us. I don't
know why God allowed (NOT CAUSED) Steven to go through that thing. All I know is that we say God move on Steven's behalf many times in those days. We also saw that the Scriptures
are Mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds.
All things work together for good...(Romans8:28)
