ELSIE RUTH DISBROW
Died February 22, 1999
--BENZONIA -- Elsie Ruth Disbrow, 89, of Benzonia, passed away Monday [22 Feb.] at her residence.
She was born March 17, 1909, in Mercer County, Ill., the daughter of Edgar and Mabel (Reeves) Fuller, and grew up in the Manistee [MI] area.
Ruth and her husband had lived in Ypsilanti, where she had been employed at Hilltop House for 31 years. In 1975 they retired to Benzonia where she worked for Smeltzer's Orchards. They attended both the Free Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Ruth is survived by five children: Alan (Dorothy) Disbrow of Westland; Arthur (Joanne) Disbrow of Troy, Ohio; Rex (Bonnie) Disbrow of Troy, Mich.; Ruth Binns of Hillsdale; and Janice (William) Gorham of Ypsilanti; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Grace Lovendusky of Honor; Roberta Petersen of Walcott, Iowa; and Dorothy Matson of Clarkston, Wash.; a brother: Jim Fuller of Lincoln Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Alan Stacy Disbrow, in 1998; six brothers; five sisters; and two daughters-in-law, Marie Disbrow and Vivian Disbrow.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the funeral home; the Rev. Floyd Soper will officiate. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery in Elberta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

CHARLES F. BERGMANN
Charles Frank Bergmann, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at a Charleston hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1958, in Spartanburg, he was a son of Jean Smith Bergmann of Wellford and the late Frank J. Bergmann.
Occupation: Graphics designer and former publisher of EDGE Magazine.
Survivors in addition to his mother: a sister, Judy Bergmann of Fayetteville, Tenn.; brothers, Joseph Bergmann of San Diego, Calif., Major John Bergmann of Tucson, Ariz., Reverend David Bergmann of Wellford. and Brian Bergmann of Tullahoma, Tenn.; a halfsister, Jacque Schnorrbusch of Amawalk, N. Y.; a halfbrother, Frank Bergmann of Alpharetta, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Animal Shelter, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, S. C. 29303.

MARJORIE DISBROW
CORUNNA [MI] -- Marjorie Disbrow of Owosso died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at a nursing home in Ovid. She was 92.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Disbrow, and daughter, Ethel Mae Cooley, both of Cadillac.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Corunna. Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon.

W. HARRINGTON 'DIZ' DISBROW
April 13, 1906 - Oct. 15, 1998
INDEPENDENCE [OR] -- William "Diz" Disbrow, 92, died Thursday of heart failure.
Born and raised in Yonkers, N.Y., he received a degree in civil engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1928. He lived in Binghamton, N.Y., where he married his first wife, Ruth Colborn. He worked for Clark, Clark, Millis & Gilson, AIA at the time of his retirement in 1973. He and his family moved to Union, where he was mayor from 1976 to 1978. He moved to Independence in 1979. He enjoyed Scouting, camping, gardening and reading, and was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity, the RPI Alumni Association, and the 50 Year Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, whom he married in 1970; daughter, Susan Briggs of Union; sons, Eric of Cameron Park, Calif., and John and William, both of Independence; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Dallas Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Salem.

MARY KAY WHELAN DISBROW, 101, of Hackensack, formerly of Jersey City, died Sunday. Born in Ireland, she came to the United States in 1921. Before retiring in 1962, she was a light-task helper for Colgate in Jersey City, where she worked for 20 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, Maywood, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was a life member of AARP Chapter 418 and a member of the Golden Age Club, both in Hackensack. She was a charter member of the Maywood Senior Citizens and a member of the Happy Seniors of Hackensack. Arrangements: Trinka-Faustini Funeral Home, Maywood.

RACHEL NICOLE BERGMANN
Somersworth - Rachel Nicole Bergmann, infant daughter of John and Belinda Espino Bergmann, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 21, 1998 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Rachel was born there November 10, 1997 and had resided with her parents in Somersworth.
Rachel was a sweet, happy and loving baby. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her parents of Somersworth; a sister, Jennifer, also of Somersworth; her paternal grandmother, Jean Bergmann of Wellford, SC; and her maternal grandparents Asclepiades Espino and Romelia Dominguez of Panama City, Panama; aunts and uncles.
A Mass of the Guardian Angels was celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 1998 at Holy Trinity Church, Somersworth, NH.

ALAN DISBROW
KALEVA - Alan Stacy Disbrow of Benzonia died Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at Paul Oliver Long-Term Care in Frankfort. He was 89.
Mr. Disbrow was born August 16, 1908 in Manton to Arthur and Mary (Brazee) Disbrow.
He retired from Mardigan Tool and Die Corp. in Warren in 1973 where he worked as a tool and die maker. After living in Ypsilanti for 31 years, Mr. Disbrow and his wife retired to Benzonia in 1975. He attended both the Free Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Elsie Ruth; children, Alan (Dorothy) Disbrow of Westland, Arthur (Joanne) Disbrow of Troy, Ohio, Rex (Bonnie) Disbrow of Troy [Michigan], Ruth Binns of Hillsdale and Janice (Bill) Gorham of Ypsilanti; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Roth and Marion Shively, both of Spring Arbor; brother Willard Disbrow of Manton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Sidney Disbrow and Ivan Disbrow; and daughters-in-law, Marie Disbrow and Vivian Disbrow.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva, the Rev. David Crane of Ypsilanti officiating. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery in Elberta.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial tributes may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

ROBERT M. DISBRO - Masonic services for Robert M. Disbro, of Naples, Fla., a former area resident and business owner, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hodges Funeral Chapel, 3520 Tamiami Trail North, Naples.
Mr. Disbro died Feb. 25, 1998, in Naples.
He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Helena, Mont.
He served as P-47 Air Force pilot during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of Willoughby Lodge No. 302 F & AM, Willoughby, a member of Champion Hills Country Club in Hendersonville, N. C., and a member of The Country Club of Naples.
Mr. Disbro founded and was president of Disbro & Co., Inc., an insurance and stock brokerage firm based in Cleveland.
Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Deanne; daughters, Joy D. Warren of Houston, Texas, and Judith Curcio of Philadelphia, Pa.; and grandchildren, Jessica and Julia Warren and James Curcio.
Cypress Lodge No. 295 F & AM will conduct the services.
