Hi! I am very happy to see your standards in your dogs. I am only 14 but I have grown up around shar-peis and I fully belive they are the greatest breed of dog. My mother and I used to have a breeding program but we got out unfortunately after seeing the mphasis on the dogs wrinkles overcome the issuses of the dogs health and tempermant. This is very unfortunate since heavy wrinkling is not even in the breed standards set by the AKC. I am very happy to see some people more intersted in the animals health nd tempermant rather than wrinkles and I pray there will be more like you because I plan to breed peis again when I am an adult! I am a former owner of three beautiful Shar-peis. Two were female the first was Milng Tzu Ashi-bang a sable brush coat her litter mate and sister Tai-li Ebony pearl a black bear coat lovable furry and funny. Easily annoyed at those who called her a chow. oth were born in May 1988 to Mugli Tzu(Dam) and Kobi Ashi-Bang their grandfather and great grandfather was Shir Du Sam Ku. Due to medical complications we had to put them down. It was probably the saddest moment in our marriage. They were our children bef re we had children. And when we did have kids they accepted them like: well one of their own. Nothing a good slobbery Pei face can't clean after a drink. The other Shar-pei was a Blonde horse coat named Fredi. The Great protector I called him. He was 4 ye rs old when we rescued him. He did have some challenges and we gave him to another pei owner who had more time and attention to deal with his psychological side. Why am I writing? I guess it's good therapy. I miss our kids and look forward to our next pei . We are holding off right now because we are just too busy to spend the time with new kids and teach them the proper life of a Pei. Or maybe I have that backwards. Anyhow your site is great and we are glad we found it and the place to find another Shar-p i in the future.

I also presently own a fawn coloured Shar Pei and as you are more familiar to this breek I kindly ask you for a clarification. My puppy which is named Xeng, does not keep his tail curled round and on the top of his back, but instead he keeps it raised upwards with the tip of his tail dropping down pointing to his back. Nice home page!! It's finally getting to look like winter up here. The kids got an extra day of Christmas vacation this year with an ice storm on 1/5/98. i got my first shat pei from a breeder who was going to out her asleep because of a knee deformity. empress was the most intelligent attentive creature i have ever known. she killed spiders (whick i am terrified of) she would notify me if she thought my daughter was in danger. she came between my daughter and the neighbors doberman twice. she pottie trained in one day. when she had her first and only litter of pups i respected her nest and stayed away but loving on her every time she left the pups for few minutes. after a week she brought one of the pups to me and i showered them both with love. i will never have another empress but i will have andother shar pei. no one can convince me any other breed is smarter or more loving and devoted.
