Just a few words from myself at this point. Emil and Sally were my grandparents and it was a little difficult to sit here and write about them without remembering all of the wonderful memories I have of them. I spent a lot of time with them while I was growing up. We only lived a few blocks away from them in North Franklin Township. I would walk over to see them almost everyday when I was old enough to walk there by myself. I can still recall every weekend going to their house and jumping up and down on grandpap's bed to wake him up because the Pink Panther was on. Going to church with them on Sunday mornings and coming home to pancakes and sausage. All the drives we took to Aunt Carol's house in Bethany, driving to Indiana to visit Aunt Martha and Uncle Jim, all of the countless drives to Wheeling Island to go to Wheeling Downs Racetrack (they just loved the dog races) and visiting Uncle Albert and Aunt Laura. I do have to say that I miss all of the holidays when grandma cooked a roast, all of her sister's came home, Aunt Carol, and our family got together and celebrated. The "old" people always ended up with a football pool going and a poker game going. In the meantime us kids always ended up downstairs in the basement playing dodge ball and hide and seek. I only wish that all children could have the fond and wonderful memories of grandparents like I have of mine. They were the best two grandparents I could have wished for. Okay now to continue....
