Scotland Ministries

Let me tell you about us…

We are Steve and Liz Marr, missionaries with Bible Centered Ministries in Scotland.

Steve was born and raised in the highlands of Scotland, not far from the Queen's residence at Balmoral. He was saved on July 4^th 1981 at the grand old age of 18! In 1984 he met Liz while she was studying Pharmacy in Aberdeen, where Steve lived and worked.

Liz is from the city of Glasgow. As a young teenager, she became a Christian during the summer of 1980. Liz knew she would be a missionary one day, but she thought it would be overseas- "after all, you don't have 'real' missionaries serving in your own country, do you?"

We were married on July 30^th, 1988. Steve felt the call to full-time Christian service when he got saved, but did not realise there were such things as missionaries, so he tried to become a pastor, and had the door repeatedly slammed in his face!

Steve entered Glasgow Bible College in 1990 and graduated in 1993. We were accepted as career missionaries by BCM (Bible Centered Ministries) the same year, to serve in our home country. Our ministry is quite varied and is based near where we stay in the south west of Scotland. We run Bible Clubs to teach the word of God to children- many of them held in schools. We help churches with their children and youth programs and Steve preaches in churches a few times a month.

We also have responsibility for the administration, maintenance and ministry of a Christian camp center called Douglas West. The building is a 'converted' 80 year old primary school. It is used by the mission for it's own camps on weekends and during holidays, and is also available for use by other Christian organisations for their camps when BCM is not using it. We have a busy ministry!
