FIRST BORN CHILD OF CONRAD AND CAROLINE (ROLFENK) LAMPMANN:

"Sophie" Friederice Lampmann was born 20 March 1862 in Germany. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on 21 April 1862, Evangelisch, Schluesselburg, Westfalen County, Germany. She immigrated to the US on 24 May 1881 by way of Bremen on the passenger ship "Habsburg".

Sophie married Peter Degen about 1885 at the approximate age of 22. They had 2 children.

Peter Degen was born 29 September 1851 in Germany. He arrived in the US from Germany in 1874. He was 33 years old at the time of his marriage to Sophie.

Both are buried in the Degen Plot in Crystal Lake Cemetery, White Lake, Aurora County, South Dakota. Sophie died 1 February 1920 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Mitchell, Davison County, South Dakota at the age of 57. Her cause of death was dropsy (jaundice), cancer of the liver. Peter died 4 July 1914 in South Dakota at the age of 62.
