Caroline (Rolfenk) Lampmann

MY GREAT-GREAT GRANDPARENTS:

Heinrich/Dettrick Christian "Conrad" Lampmann was born on 2 July 1836 in Germany. He was baptized on 17 July 1836, Evangelisch, Schluesselburg, Westfalen County, Germany. He immigrated to the US from Germany and arrived in New York on 19 June 1885 by way of Bremen/Southampton on the passenger ship "Rhein".

He married "Caroline" Sophie Margarethe Rolfenk on 28 May 1860 in Evangelisch, Schluesselburg, Westfalen, Germany at the age of 23. They had 7 children.

His wife, "Caroline" Sophie Margarethe Rolfenk was born 2 September 1840 in Schluesselburg, Westfalen, Germany. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on 13 September 1840, Evangelisch, Schluesselburg, Westfalen County, Germany. She immigrated to the US with her husband and 5 of their 7 children. She was 19 years old when she married her husband, Conrad.





In 1887 the Lampmann Family staked a claim in South Dakota, Gales Township, Aurora County. Unfortunately, 3 years later Conrad died on 4 January 1890 in South Dakota at the age of 53.

Caroline died on 27 January 1927 in Charles Mix County, South Dakota at the age of 86. Her cause of death was old age, gallstones & stomach trouble.

Both Conrad and Caroline are buried in the family plot, Crystal Lake Cemetery, White Lake, Aurora County, South Dakota
