Biographical Information

Alexander Mongomery is my great-great-great grandfather. He was borned 1813 in Tennessee. He married Barthena Mills who was born in Tennessee in 1821.When the war broke out he said he did not own slaves and he did not believe in the confederate ideas. He found he could no longer live in Tennessee so he moved to a more neutrel Kentucky. He and William his son settled in Lexington where he worked for the union army as a wagonmaster. He died in 1863 and is buried in the military section of the cemetery in grave 211. He is listed as an employee.
