A Treasured
Friendship
One day I met
a girl,
Stephanie was her name.
She was pretty as a picture
And sweet-natured just the same.
She saw my brother
and just knew
It was love at first sight.
"I'm gonna get my hooks into him," she said
"And one day I'll be his wife."
Somehow she
knew
A part of our lives she'd be.
But I wonder if she truly knew
The impact she'd have on me.
My life has
taken twists and turns
Some fun times and some sad.
No matter where life took me,
A friend in Steph I had.
One thing I'll
never forget is
How dependable she could be.
I could always count on Stephanie
To be there for me.
Through sad
times she loaned me her shoulder.
Through weak times she helped me be strong,
Through happy times she laughed with me
And helped me get along.
But now a part
of my life has ended.
For reasons I'll never understand,
How a beautiful life like Stephanie's
Could end as fast as it began.
The trips to
the mall, the fun times at the bowling alley,
The late-night chats on the computer
Are all treasures I dare not forget
And will keep in my heart forever.
Time has a way
of healing
These feelings of sadness and sorrow.
But time can never erase the feelings
Of wishing there was still tomorrow.
But Praise the Lord we do have the promise
Of being with our saved loved ones in Heaven one day.
Will we choose happiness or sorrow?
The choice is ours to make TODAY.
