I work for a professional liability (medical malpractice) insurance company based in Napa and am responsible for all of the voice communications for our 12 offices. I had been a pre-veterinary student in college but dropped out to "get married and live happily ever after". I've been divorced 19 years (we're still good friends) and alone for most of the last 16 years, working on a career. The company I have been with for 10 years has been going through several major changes; I think that's partly what helped me realize that making a living wasn't the same as having a life!
I have 2 grown children - a daughter 31, and a son 27 in the Air Force. I love animals, so I also have pets - or I guess I should say - PETS! I'm looking for another horse (I recently had to put one of my two down at the age of 33) as I love to ride. I also LOVE fishing and camping.
In addition to the horse, I have 2 pigmy goats, 2 pot bellied pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, a turkey, a peacock, bunnies, a golden retriever, 5 cats, 3 kittens, an African gray parrot, a cockatoo, 2 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, an 8 ft. boa constrictor, and a 65 gallon tank of fish. The animals are wonderful (a lot of them have been rescued from neglect or abuse), and I really enjoy sharing them with kids who come to see them and pet them - kind of like having my own private petting zoo!!
I am working on returning to school to finish getting my degree, this time in business with a major in information systems.
I don't do things half way and I tend to put a lot of myself into everything I do. I am independent and can take care of myself, but miss the closeness of a relationship, and sometimes I get scared and just want to be held and told everything is going to be OK. I would love to be in a partnership type of relationship some day - I couldn't be subservient, but I couldn't respect someone I could dominate (and besides, I certainly don't want to)
I feel that being good friends is the critical first step in being partners. I hate fighting, dishonesty and cheating. I love sharing (I don't enjoy doing things or going places alone nearly as much as with someone) kissing (it is very much under-rated as an enjoyable pastime!) and hugging. I'm very sensual and tactile and I love being touched and held. I feel lovemaking is one of the most wonderful and enjoyable forms of communication.
I travel a little in my work and some day I hope to have the opportunity to travel for pleasure and experience new places - I've studied archeology and anthropology and zoology and would love to see Egypt, Greece, Africa, Mexico, South America and Alaska !!
I almost did not include this on my web-page, as it rambles on so much, but I'm going to leave it just this way - I think it may tell you something about me in itself - I hope it doesn't frighten you. I really am a very, very nice person.
