My Personal Journey

My personal journey through life has been filled with laughter and joy, sorrow and tears, fun and excitement, and tragedies and pain. It's been like riding on one hell of a big roller coaster. Cruising up and down and twisting all around. I want to share with you my personal journey and the best way I can start is by introducing myself. I was even brave enough to include a picture... don't you dare laugh either.

One of my greatest joys in life has been my family. There was a time in my life that I felt all alone, unloved, and just plain scared of myself, but no more. Now I have one of the greatest families of all. They are a big part of my life. You'll meet my son Jonathan and my youngest stepdaughter Christina. You would have been able to meet my husband here too except for we are now divorced. Don't worry though, it was a peaceful divorce. A marriage ended, but it was not a failure. I did what was meant to be and that was to help raise three beautiful girls. My love for them is forever and they are and always will be a part of my family. You'll also meet my mom and dad. My Dad is very special to me and I'll tell you why. Just click on "family" above and you'll meet him too as well as my brothers and my one and only sister. UPDATE: I'm a Nana! Maximus Alan was born on 31 Jan 2007.

One day I'll share my family tree with you as I got bit by the genealogy bug a few years ago. I want to devote a whole page to genealogy, but in the meantime, I have shared with you a very special picture that I obtained from my search for my mother's biological mother--my grandmother. I still can't believe I found her!!

Speaking of the past... if you really want to know me then you'll need to share my cancer adventure with me. So come this way... come on, it's not that bad. I'll just give you a brief description of what I went through and share with you some very helpful links to sites where you can find out virtually anything you ever wanted to know about Hodgkins Disease and more. By the way, I'm officially "cured" as of January 2001! And hopefully I'll stay that way.

How about reading some of my favorite words of wisdom? Or take a journey to a place where my dreams and desires are displayed for all to see. In fact, I have created a new webpage that you can link to that is devoted to my 50 States in 50 Months dream which will become reality on 1 April 2009.

In other words, this web site is a place where I record what's important to me so that I can look back years from now and see where I was and how I got there...wherever "there" is :-) It's also a place that family and friends can come to see what I'm up to or where I've been. I always try to journalize my adventures and include pictures as well so be sure to check back every once in awhile as I'm always dreaming of tomorrow...

THIS HOMEPAGE IS ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION - IN FACT, SINCE I'M IN TURKEY, IT HAS BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND TIME TO UPDATE IT. SORRY! BUT ONLY 4 MONTHS TO GO...now 3 MONTHS TO GO :-) Okay, now another 9 MONTHS to go because I extended here so that I could retire here without going through the madness of another assignment. My family doesn't know except my son, my daughter, and my oldest brother. I'll tell everyone else when I go on leave which will be soon. Yes, life is definitely a roller coaster ride!

I'M OFFICIALLY RETIRED!! Maybe now I'll start updating my page again...maybe.

on 28 Feb 09.

Look at how many people have visited my page!! Okay... so not many, but hey someone looked :-)
