Well, I got some long awaited news last week… leadership finally made a wise decision and decided against sending me on the upcoming deployment due to some issues in our office, i.e. one guy is undergoing a procedure to see if he has colon cancer and then there’s my troop Amy. Amy would have been left in charge once Jeff retires in April and with her plate already running over with personal issues (divorce, single parenthood, just diagnosed with depression, and undergoing tests for ADHD), the stress of being in charge could have been the straw that broke the camels back if you know what I mean. So bottom line, they need me to be here to run the office. Of course I have mixed feelings about it as I had geared myself up for one heck of an adventure. Oh well, maybe next time…
Yesterday I went on an adventure to see an old friend and had a great time... it was short, but sweet... had some good conversation over a plate of some of the most delicious ribs I've ever eaten. The half rack was just a big tease though so maybe next time, I'll order the full rack and devour every single morsel to be had ;-)
Today I'm fixing a bean pot using the ham bone from Christmas... perfect day for it since it is a cool overcast rainy day. Mom suggested I soak the beans overnight and when she did, I involuntarily went on the defensive, but I quickly realized what was happening and stopped it before it went further... see I'm learning... slowly but surely ;-)
Back.
