We are descendants of Joseph Crabb of Virginia. Our branch of the family ended up in Pope County, Illinois after the Civil War (most of u are still here). His father's name was Walter. Samuel's brother Fred may have been born in Loders too but his brother Charles and sister Alice were born in London. He wrot poetry, sang in tenor, played the violin, had a great sense of justice and was a Councillor with George Lansbury (grandfather of the actress Angela Lansbury)who wanted him to put up for Parliament. He married an orphan, Agnes Jane Shelton and they had a raper's shop in London. |
