I've been trying to research our great grandfather, Henry Crabb, from Hamilton who was an opera tenor there and who apparently traveled to various venues in the U.S., including Colorado. Would you have any information on Henry Crabb? He married Nellie Sexton, our great grandmother and who remains mysterious to us. On her death certificate, her mother was listed as: unknown. ? I'd appreciate any information that you might have. I've been told that birth records for that area are filed in Thunderbay

Just found this site....looks good. I'm married to a Craib and have just produced the latest addition...Matthew, the only one to continue the name on this branch of the Craib family. We're from Aberdeen and the family is quite a large one with some in Eng and and Australia. There are also other Craib families up here too. I'm keen to make up the family tree but realise that it's not going to be an easy task especially as my father-in-law seems to be reluctant to to pass on information. I have also been in ouch with other Craib families from Australia and Canada.

HELP! I strongly suspect that the Permelia A. Crabb who appears in the 1850 Limestone County, Alabama census in the household of Stephen Crabb is my ancestor, Permelia Angeline. My Angeline married Richard POWERS and lived in Lauderdale County, Alabama an possibly Sebastian County, Arkansas but I need a marriage record to be sure! Stephen was the son of Joseph Crabb of Virginia according to the descendancy chart listed on your page. Permelia A. is at the bottom of the chart. Does anyone know this Perme ia A. Crabb ISN'T my Permelia Angeline? Your page was really great! The descendancy charts were very helpful! Thanks!

My maiden name was Crabb. My father's family came from the City of London, but my great-great-grandfather was called Jeremiah Crabb and he came from Essex (Coggeshall). My grandfather, Claude William Crabb, was a plumber in E. London. He died around 19 8. His father, George Crabb was in service in Lombard Street, City of London, when his children were born. I live in Cambridge. There are a lot of records of 'Crabb' around the Ely area. I would be glad to hear from anyone who thinks they may be desce ded from Jeremiah!

Our branch of the family ended up in Pope County, Illinois after the Civil War (most of u are still here). Thomas Wesley Crabb and his 3 brothers fought in the war. 3 of them fought for the Confederacy and the other for the Union. I guess that is how a lot of families were separated at that time. Slowly, but surely, we are finding each ot er. Thanks again.

My Grandfather,Samuel John Crabb, was born 25.9.1842 in the family's home town of Loders, in Dorset. His father's name was Walter. Samuel's brother Fred may have been born in Loders too but his brother Charles and sister Alice were born in London. He wrot poetry, sang in tenor, played the violin, had a great sense of justice and was a Councillor with George Lansbury (grandfather of the actress Angela Lansbury)who wanted him to put up for Parliament. He married an orphan, Agnes Jane Shelton and they had a raper's shop in London.

I belong to the New Brunswick Loyalist Crabb(e) family of John. Our name was legally changed to Crabtree in 1912, for what reason, I don't know except that other members had changed the name as early as 1850.

My gt.gt. grandmother was Ann Crabb who married John Hyde, horsedealer of Loders. The daughter (presumably of Ann and John) but born before the marriage, was Annabella Hyde b. 1827. I read your homepage but would like your postal address to send to Crabb descendant from Loders not on the net. I am Mrs. G. Gasparelli, 80 West St. Carshalton, Surrey, SM5 2PR, England.
