Benner Families of Western PA

I am searching additional info regarding my 4xGreat grandparents JOHN & ELIZABETH BENNER. They lived in Armstrong & Clarion counties in northwestern Pennsylvania in the second half of the 1800s. I do not know where they came from or anything about their families of origin. What follows is everything I know so far:

JOHN BENNER (supposedly of German descent) was born 8/29/1800 (location unknown). He died 4/2/1881 in Miola, Clarion Co. PA. His wife ELIZABETH (maiden name unknown) was born 10/17/1808 (location unknown). She served as a mid-wife in Miola. She died 2/27/1878 in Miola, Clarion Co. PA. They are buried side-by-side in the Miola Cemetery.

They had several children - of which I have limited knowledge of three. They were:

  • a daughter SARAH BENNER, who married someone named CRISPIN;
  • a son GEORGE BENNER, who served in the Civil War; and
  • a daughter MATILDA ANN BENNER, my 3xgreat grandmother (see below).

    MATILDA ANN BENNER was born 5/19/1850 in Stoyestown, Armstrong Co. PA; married MARCELLUS G. DeVALLANCE JR. on 3/15/1867 in Highland Township, Clarion Co. PA; and died 1/8/1925 in Miola, Clarion Co. PA. She and her husband had four children:

    Matilda is buried beside her husband in Miola Cemetery.

    I have attached photos of both JOHN BENNER and his daughter MATILDA BENNER. Any help you can provide will be very much appreciated.
