And here is the whole gang (OE Division) with even more of Gerry's friends (Ray, Moran, Chief Tanaka, Doug, Chris, Jim, Cal, Bruce, Mr. Watts, Wilmott, etc.). Hey, why are those guys joking around? Don't they know there is a war going on. :-)
A couple more pictures of Gerry standing next to his radar antenna and Gerry in Hong Kong with some Navy buddies.

Today I strive to do my best at things I'm interested (motivated) in doing. Note: Sometimes I'm not motivated, so I'm not doing my best; however, maybe it is that I don't fully understand the value involved. Over the years I have studied Abraham Maslow's work on motivation, and I believe we all have barriers (fear, etc.) that keep us from being totally self-actualized. Once we get over these barriers (or block them out), we can empower ourselves, and work to overcome or tackle anything (George McFly).
As parents we need to eliminate contention in our homes, AND build self esteem and love. I had very loving and caring parents, and I love all my kids very, very much; and I know that Nancy and I would do anything to help them out. This attitude and behavior builds self-confidence in our families, and allows our children to progress up the levels on Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs.
This power if held in check and with intelligence and a holistic and caring view of the world, can create great leaders and lead to eclectic changes in the world. If we collaborate, however, we double or triple our power or ideas. So, the more personable, out-going, and truly sincere we are; the more this ability will grow, thereby allowing synergy and a collective force to challenge/change the systems and processes that impede us in society or business.
On a personal note, I've been down on autocrats mainly because often it seems their ego matters more than the needs of the whole. We need to run our businesses with as much intelligence and use of intelligence as we can get. The businesses with the most big-picture-view and understanding, and with the most ideas will succeed.
At home I believe we should gather information, share input, understand requirements (each and all), ponder (but not too long); and strive to make the best decisions possible. And have a understanding that if this process is used that all with support whatever outcome is derived.
I hope your families can be the best they can be. Spend time with them. Play with them. Work with them. Build their self-esteem and make them confident in their abilities. We can choose to build many, many abilities such as sports, song, reading, tv watching, computer game playing, etc. etc. etc.. All I can say is "choose wisely". At the very least, find some activities that will involve the whole family as often as possible.
I hope this is good advice, and I wish I had followed it better than I did. The best to you all.
