Yosemite National Park

March 1999

Early springtime turned out to be a glorious time to visit Yosemite. Mary and Kyle had only been there in the late spring and summer, and never before with the girls. In mid-March 1999 we spent a long weekend there and truly enjoyed it. The mountains were all blanketed with snow, the waterfalls were bursting with spring runoff, and the air was crisp and clear. The only compromises were cooler weather, a few hours of mixed snow with rain, and a restriction against traveling to the high country. Chloe and Celeste loved running around the rocks and forests, but weren't quite as excited about taking hikes in any directed sense.
