Alma Kristina Fordham (nee Bystrom) (My Mother), born March 14, 1908 in Stromsund, Jamtland Sweden she married my Father Joseph Silas Fordham on May 30, 1925. She died November 25, 1939 at Grand Forks British Columbia, Canada. Alma along with her father immigrated to Canada about 1924. While working in a cook house at a logging operation near Nelson B.C., she met my father and shortly there after they were married.

In November 1939, my Mother, living in Prince George, became quite ill. She wanted to go to Nelson B.C. where her parents lived. My Uncle Hans Lind and a neighbor rigged up an old truck with a tarp on the back, put a bed and a stove, along with all our belongings in it. They put my Mother along with us five children in the back of the truck and started to drive down to Nelson. At RockCreek B.C. my Mother became to sick to carry on so she was put in a hospital in Grand Forks, where she died.
