Waiting For Us...At Rainbow's Bridge
They will not go quietly, the pets who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.
Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door.
Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be.
And sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends, and a new food dish to fill
That one place in our hearts belongs to them...and always will."
Now playing -- Memory
Lady McKaela of Kismit, My Kaela.
She was my shadow and my best friend for ten short years.
Kaela helped me through some really rough times by
just being there for me.
Sweet dreams, my dearest Kaela...
Honey
We adopted him from the SPCA -- Couldn't resist
that little paw reaching out to us.
His life here on earth was much too short.
Honey died at age 10, after a very brief illness.

MAX & GINGER
1998
Max and Ginger were both shepherd mixes. We adopted Max
from the animal shelter when he was a puppy. Ginger
was a stray that adopted us. We never owned
two dogs that loved each other more... or grieved more
when separated. We helped them cross the
Rainbow Bridge together on January 13, 1998. They
were fourteen years old and suffering so.
We hope you guys know how much you were loved,
how much you are missed, and how it breaks our hearts
to place your photos on this page.
You are both pain free now, and will be together
...for eternity.
Mini
Mini was a scruffy little blonde mutt. She
and her
littermates were being given away in the parking
lot
of a mall. We chose her because
of her beautiful eyes.
Mini passed away when she was 10 years old.
This was many years ago.
Kizzy
Kizzy appeared on our porch one Halloween.
We took him in, bathed him, fed him, and the rest
is history. We named him Kizzy because
we'd just seen the movie "Roots" and learned that Kizzy
means "stay put," which we wanted him to do,
but, of course, he wouldn't!
Kizzy died at the age of 8 from ingesting poison
from a neighbor's garden.
The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land
of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, they go to this place.
There is always food and water and warm, spring weather.
The old, frail animals are young again,
those who are maimed are made
whole again.
They play all day with each other but there is
one thing missing...
they are not with you,
their special person who loved them on Earth.
So, each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up,
the eyes are staring and the tail begins
to wag.
This one suddenly runs from the group; you have been seen.
And when you and your special friend meet,
you take them in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,
never to be separated again.
