The KidSport Fund
A project of Sport BC
The KidSport™ Fund, established by Sport BC in 1993, provides
funding to individuals from across the Province of BC, aimed at helping to overcome the financial obstacles preventing
children's involvement in sport.

Funding Guidelines...
(Under review as of Jan. 1, 1998)
- Grants will range from a minimum of $50 to a maximum of $100 per individual
per calendar year.
- Grants are for payment of registration fees and may be used only in activities
which demonstrate a sustained sport experience - a season of sport, led by a qualified coach - camps, tournaments
and special trips are not eligible.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 6 and 18.
- Preference is given to athletes who are being introduced into organized
sport.
- Sport activities must be affiliated with the member organizations of Sport
BC.
Corporate Charity of Choice...
- Tax receipts will be issued for all donations to the KidSport Fund over
$25.
- Corporate sponsors include The Vancouver Grizzlies, Overwaitea and Save-on-Foods,
the Spectra Group of Restaurants, NIKE Canada, The Royal Bank, BCTV, CKNW, The Vancouver Sun, BC Hydro, Swift Couriers,
The Vancouver Canucks, Peninsula Runners Inc., and the Canadian Springs Water Co.
- KidSport Week 1998 will be taking place from March 27th to April 3rd -
various events at different locations are being planned.
