|
Certified coaches have been examined for technical competence and teaching ability. They are trained in safe equestrian
procedures and hold first aid certificates and are accountable to their sanctioning federation/association.
The quality of coaching is an integral part of sport development. Parents, administrators and athletes - both recreational
and competitive are placing greater emphasis on high standards of coaching education and leadership at all levels
of coaching.
Canadian Equestrian Federation Coaching Certification Program (CEF)
The Canadian Equestrian Federation is committee to the development and implementation of the National Coaching
certification Program (NCCP) which includes three components: Theory, Technical and Practical. All national team
coaches must be certified at NCCP Level 4 as of 1994.
The object of the CEF Coaching Development System is to produce Canadian Coaches capable of fielding horses and
riders of international caliber. This goal can only be reached with a firm base of instruction at all levels of
riding.
The CEF Coaching Program consists of three disciplines: English, Western and Driving. |
