This is my rescue Border Collie, Sid. We got Sid in 1995, when he was one year old from an ad in the newspaper 'Free to good home!' I say he was rescued because for the first year of his life he had been tied to a dog house in the owner's back yard. Anyone who knows about the breed knows that border collies live to do a job and that running has to be a part of that job. So, we took him home and he joined the family and our learning experience began. Now, Sid is a registered member of Therapy Dog International, and has obtained an AKC obedience title of Companion Dog Excellent. Sid also passed the Border Collie Society of America's Herding Instinct Test. The picture above is Sid with two trophies that he won at a fun match - first place in Novice A and High in Match!!
