Welcome to the Home Page ofMarianne West |
Hello, I am glad you came for a visit. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Marianne West, I am also known as Longo on the IRC chat, (because my maiden name is Long). I am married to a wonderful man named Ron, and I am a mother of three grown children, Brian, Jodell, and Doug. I have seven grandchildren, Kayla age 15, Brianna age 14, Kevin age 10, Aislyn age 8, Caitlin age 2, and Nathan and Emily are both age 1. I have been a genealogy nut for about twenty years. My hobbies besides genealogy are reading, crochet, computers, writing, and singing. I hope to write an historical novel based on some of the facts and history of my immigrant ancestors. I am an active member of the Morgan County Chorale of which I served as president for two years. I am a Past President of our local Rotary Club, and I am a retired real estate associate for RE/MAX. I later decided to return to the work force and I am now a department manager at Wal-Mart.
Below there is a partial list of the surnames I am researching on both my side and Ron's side. Also for more information check My complete Surname Index and Database which was updated in September 2004.

My Family Photo Album Coming soon! The Internet has become a
great tool for genealogical research. There are many sites to visit that will
help you get the information you need to add to your family tree. There are
location sites for research in certain counties or states. There are also real
time chat channels that focus on the subject of genealogy. The people that visit
the channels regularly are very helpful. When you visit a genealogy chat channel
be sure to bring your surnames with you. You may find a cousin. I have visited
several channels and found several cousins. Even if you don't find a cousin you
will make new friends, who are willing to help you find leads for your research.
The channel that I visit the most often is #GenealogyForum and can be found on IRC Afternet.
