Welcome to a potpourri of

Picayune Trivia

I work in the accounting department of a Midwestern printer and mailer of direct mail advertising. What you call junk mail is my bread and butter. My husband is a builder of pallets, skids, and wooden shipping containers. Remember the dust bowl of the thirties? We live in the sawdust bowl of the nineties.

We are the proud grandparents of three boys boys ages 16, 14 and 2 and a girl age 5. We know all there is to know about spoiling grandchildren. Here is a absolutely fantastic place to start

In our spare time we enjoy traveling in the Western part of the United States. If you would like to know how we get from here to there, click here. The beauty of the mountains and ocean are a fantastic sight to behold. If you would like to know how we decide where to go click here Some day we plan to see New England in the fall, a restored Southern plantation, the blue ridge mountains of Virginia and the Cumberland Gap.

I also enjoy rereading the novels of my all time favorite author Louis L'amour.

During the winter I enjoy sitting before a roaring fire in the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate, and reading Jack Higgins, Jeffrey Archer, or John Grisham.

Since we had a brutalizing, harsh, extremely cold, snowy, windy winter this past season, I would never have survived without the expertise of the investigating abilities of Peter and Rina, the ordered mind of Joe Leaphorn, and to keep everything in perspective; Rabbi David Small. For a while I thought I was with the cats 400 miles north of everywhere instead of in Iowa.

Another author I have just discovered is Janet Evanovich. Her Stephanie Plum novels are extremely funny; have put Trenton, NJ back on the map, and makes your own family seem normal. Stephanie Plum will be joining Kinsey Millhone as a household word.

You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

Do not cry because it is over; smile because it happened.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

We could learn a lot from crayons - some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all have to learn to live in the same box.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Your attitude almost always determines your altitude in life.

The race goes not always to the swift....but to those who keep on running.

Remember, growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.

Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness. Then at the end of the day when you look at it, you won't have to wish you had painted something different.
