Roger Conant is perhaps the most important and distinguished ancestor in the Conant family line. Roger first of all was the first "white" child born in what is now called Salem, Mass. The Salem Book of Grants is written in Roger Conant’s hand. Roger later on founded by name, the city of Salem, Mass.
