Sarah, had Edmund, b. 30 Aug. 1683; Benjamin, 6 July 1686; Mary, 13 Mar. 1688; John, 12 June 1693; Thomas, 26 Mar. 1696; Joseph, 18 July 1698; William, 4 Dec. 1700; Sarah, 6 Dec. 1703; and Isaac, 20 Oct. 1706; d. 18 May 1720, and his wid. d. 12 Nov. 1742, aged 90. Of these ch. Mary d. at 46 yrs. but all the other eight filled 60, or 70, or 80, or 90 yrs. [Savage, Gen. Dictionary, 1965]


In 1702 he, in company with Mr. John Nye of S., viewed and "purchased one thousand acres of land in Windham, Ct., lying in that part of the township since known as MANSFIELD." The Indian name of the tract purchased was NAWBESETUCK, and was set off from Windham, a distinct town the next year. [Descendants of Edmund Freeman]
