Took a notable part in the 100 years war and in 1387 was Captain of the Castle of Oye/Picardy. On 12 Mar 1405 he was sent by Henry IV as ambassador to Margeruite of Flanders, Duchess of Bourgogne, on Dutch affairs and signed trading treaty with Flanders.
