His death record states that he died at Dartmouth 8 March 1719/20 in his 88th year, and so must have been born in England and probably came with his mother on a later boat than his father. He married first, going to his old hometown of Sandwich, on 10 Oct 1665, Patience Gifford, daughter of William1 A. She was alive as late as 20 May 1674B. They removed to Dartmouth when his father died and remained there. They had five children, born between 1667 and 1674: Sarah, Experience, Temperance, John and RobertB. Richard married second on 2 Nov 1678, Abigail, widow of Zoeth Howland, who was killed in King Philip’s War. Zoeth was son of Henry and Mary (Newland)C. He left Abigail with nine children, and in order that she might be able to bring them up, the Court on 3 July 1678 granted her the whole of Zoeth’s estate. On 2 Nov 1678 she married Richard KirbyD. She had died before Richard wrote his will on 30 Jan 1707/08E. The will was proved 4 April 1720.
