Acted as Marshall of England at coronation of King Richard II on
16 Jul 1377, and the same day advanced to the Earldom of
Northumberland. He fought in the Battle of Shrewsbury and
subsequently fell, while in arms against the King at Bramham Moor,
near Halsewood. The arms and honours became forfeit, but were
