From Perry. Brownson, NEHGR 116:38. Married (1) Rebecca Bliss (1744-1788), daughter of John Bliss, and (2) Rebecca (Bailey) Greenwood. He enlisted in the Revolution in Connecticut and later moved to southern Vermont. He was appointed 2d Lt in October 1776 by the Connecticut Assembly in one of the eight battalions then being raised. He was promoted in February 1777 to the rank of 1st Lt., when we find that the Assembly ordered that "Sylvanus Perry, who was second Lieftenant in Chandler’s regiment, to be first lieftenant instead of [Thomas] Abbe." Perry transferred to Wylly’s Regiment. [BINGHAM.GED]
