Schooner Bay Chaleur of Bay Chaleur, noticed Oct. 3/1858, had been in difficulty for 8 days prior. One lone survivor Joseph Costa, a Frenchman, others have perished, including Captain Thomas Caldwell, brother to Mr Colweel of Bay Chaleur
