Colonial Acres Blaze of Egypt (Ch. Aroi Blue Tiger Blues x Ch. Colonial Acres Lady Luck) was my first Greyhound. We took part in dog shows, junior showmanship, and 4-H obedience together. I wonder if he was the first Grey in 4-H. We won a Purina award and represented our county at the state fair. He also learned many tricks and was a popular "ambassadog," especially among hospitalized veterans.
Blaze was such a great dog that he inspired me to helping Greyhounds, regardless of their background. In those days, not much was being done in the Greyhound rescue field, but I hoped to find a way to give a home to a retired racer eventually.
I've since learned that retired racers (NGA Greys) are some of the sweetest, smartest, most wonderful pets available. This site is dedicated to them.
