Telephone No. (213) 484-0818. -- The only community library of its kind in the United States catering mainly to the Filipino- American community. The Pamana Foundation is a nonprofit, public benefit corporation established as a result of an endowment from the Brown couple - Helen and William, Sr. - of a collection of books and materials on the history and culture of Filipinos and Filipino Americans. Although the foundation has been into such endeavors as the continuing lecture series for several years now on Filipino culture and heritage; literary and musical enrichment programs in coordination with Filipino-American writers, playwrights and artists; and children's early acculturation through book reading, story telling and similar activities, its primary purpose is the support of PARRAL.
   
   

RESEARCHERS -- UNITED STATES

1. CALIFORNIA - SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA: Ms. Dorothy Tenaza - Since majority of the "Manong Generation" arrived in the Continental USA through the San Francisco area, there may be some records at the National Archives and Cemeteries in the area about them. Also, as a well known fact, the Family History Center can have microfiche available of genealogical records from the Philippines. Ms. Dorothy Tenaza lives only a few miles from the National Archives in San Bruno, California, USA. and usually visits the Archive two or three times a month while working on her genealogy. Also, it is located only a few blocks from the local Family History Center. She might be able to help on a few lookups as long as the information could be sent by e-mail to questioners. She's also lives near Colma so she could also do cemetery lookups for San Francisco if the name of the Cemetery is known. She've found headstones sometimes that give dates or marriage partners missing from genealogies.
