Also, some postings/answers to various questions raised about Filipino surnames were extracted from the Social.Culture.Filipino Newsgroup.

You can provide a query of your surname to see if somebody with the same ancestry will find it and provide you with some information that may help you in your ancestry searches. This page was not intended to give you immediate answers to a lifelong question on "Who my ancestors are?" The reason that is a lifelong question is because some of us did not or may not even know the answer. This site will attempt to give you, the "Filipino Genealogist," the forum to find some answers to this lifelong question.

In Genealogy research, patience is a must. As a matter of fact, the Internet is just growing and not everybody has access to these pages. You might have relatives in the Philippines that don't know that you are looking for them just because they don't have any access to the Internet. If that is the case, they can never respond to your query. Hopefully, some of their fortunate friends can let them know and possibly respond through them.
