Cathy and Her Friends - Part #2
In KayL..
When I first reached KL, I had no friends. After 5 hours of travelling from the North, I didn't know what to look forward to as a college student. But thank God I'm in the school of communication and I got to know a number of friends on the first day of orientation even though I was late (I took my own sweet time applying sunblock as nobody informed me regarding the orientation time).
After more than 2 years of brainwash and influence, still being late occasionally, I hangout with them whenever I'm free and not free as I still see them in college everyday. Of course, I cherish them as much as my buddies in Penang 'cos these people had indeed taught me a lot of things in life. A small, but valuable life that wishes to carry on in a big city with adequate courage.
So what do we do besides attending classes in the boring classroom? Life in KL is easy provided you're "loaded". Movies, Genki Sushi, shopping, mamak-ing, and sometimes even bowling and archery. Oh,did I ever tell you that we go clubbing too? :)
It's inevitable that everybody's unlifted spirit is drained out at the end of the month. So while waiting for our parents to bank in money, we normally just dine in "Success", a kopitiam near Taylor's and watch TV at home during weekends. During this harsh period, our favourite food is Maggi and NOTHING ELSE but Maggi. Nonetheless, we change from one flavour to another as there're a variety of choices - Tomyam, Curry, Chicken etc. and just in case we're bored with this brand, we certainly play a good role for being a brand-switcher :)
Be it in Penang or KL, we had gone through lotsa difficulties together - breakups, public speaking, assignments, arguments and so on and so forth. But there's one thing that we all share and will treasure for as long as we can remember - the memories that we all created together. All the tears and laughters that we shared will always linger in my mind even after a period of time 'cos I know I wont be able to go back to the past. Somewhat 10 years later when I toss and turn in my bed reminiscing the good old times, I know that I'll eventually end up putting up a smile when I go into my dreamland.
Domo arigato gozhaimasu, watashi no tomodachi. Till we meet again, amigos para siempre!
