My Bond Page

I have had a Bond Knitting Machine for about 4 years now and have enjoyed it a lot. But nowhere near as much as I have since I found the Bond Knitting List on the net. This has been great! So many nice knitting pals and so many helpful hints!!

Just recently I have acquired an Elite machine as well and am stubbornly working on putting together a ribber from a second main bed and the necessary hardware. I have not yet gotten everything together that I need, but hopefully soon!

Below are a couple of sweaters that I made for my girls. The Heart Sweater was my first fair-isle project.

I found this in a McCalls Needlework magazine from the 1980's, it was a size 6-8. On this one I hand-knitted and then sewed on the band. Having done fair-isle in school as a young girl, I was so pleasantly surprised at the speed when it is done on the Bond. And the tension is much more even as well.

Next I tried a sweater that I saw on the back of the Vogue Knitting Book. It was written for adults, so I used a basic sweater pattern, child's size 10-12 and recharted the design to fit the sweater. This one took me a while to figure out. I made it extra long to go over leggings.

I worked it from a chart I made with fair-isle pattern and shapings. I found that easier than the written instructions. The question is always what to make next!! I have so many patterns, one more challenging than the other! The only thing I'm lacking are extra hours in the day!
