Ginger

Contentment

As a responsible breeder of golden retrievers we share in a common concern for the adverse consequences which come about from the growing popularity of the breed. Over breeding and careless breeding practices have already begun to have adverse effects in some closely bread lines.

In managing our breeding program we look for compatible blood-lines and complementary traits that will strengthen our lines to produce a sound dog. Our first consideration is to carry forward the traits of the true golden temperament, which is full of love and eagerness to please. We then evaluate, to the very best we can, the genetic character of the pedigree we intend to use as stud in order to avoid known defects within certain lines which have become more pronounced in recent years.

First and formost all of our dogs are family pets that interact with us in our busy lives. The live with us and sometimes even eat and sleep with us. Ginger has been part of our family for ten years and has been in our breeding program for four years. She is officially retired and is only now getting to accept the fact that she is no longer the dominate female in the pact. She has a certain wisdom in her that sometimes makes it seem she knows what you are thinking. She is a very special dog that rewards the attention given to her with loyalty and obedience.
