Pohatcong Township, Warren County is a 14.8 square mile area located on the Southern tip of the county having a population of 3,591, and a transient population (workers, shoppers, etc.) of approximately 8,000. The Township has over 50 miles of combined roadways, with several heavily traveled county roads included. Our borders are, the Deleware River, and the Musconetcong river. Within the last three years there have been major changes in the infrastucture, were the addition of a 100 store shopping mall complex, completion of the Interstate Rt 78 corridor (which travels 3.2 miles through the center of the Township) also an additional Green Acres Public Park project. The addition of these three projects not counting normal structural growth and another shopping project now underway over the years has put a tremendous burden on our police department. There is also an approved and initiated construction area containg an industrial park complex, and a housing development, that will double both the Township population and our commercial community within two years.
