Curriculum

The curriculum of Sonshine Nursery School is a thematic one based on the belief that God has given his many children many different types of gifts. The monthly themes take into account both seasonal and religious observances. (While the monthly themes remain the same, the individual curricula for the junior and senior programs emphasize different aspects of the common theme.) The use of general monthly themes allow the staff to emphasize a variety of subjects, while still remaining within the realm of the general theme. Since mathamatics, language arts, art, music and movement activities are a part of almost every planned nursery school activity, it becomes convenient to plan these activities around the theme for the month. Science activities are a different matter, however, and whenever possible, science activities follow the religious theme for the month. Where this is not practical, a sub-theme, specifically for science has been listed.
