With access to the stones and the information provided by several individuals, Magus throughout the realms were able to reinforce the walls that held the demons out of this reality. This process took several years during which many great battles were fought between the silver demons and packs of mages. With the boundry reinforced, no more of the silver demons could cross into this realm. However, it became a matter of great importance to hunt down the remaining demons who had already crossed over. The stones were redistributed to Elliel, Thrilltor, and Platiglio. Most people didn't know about the stones which served the purpose of thier wardens. Each stone was bound and protected with several wards.
Approximatly five years after the boundry had been resealed, a young Duke, Tamron Hue rises to some measure of power in Platiglio. A navel hero, Tamron Hue gained a reputation for insurmountable courage by repulsing Cynthian raiders intent on claiming Platiglio. Local bravos flocked to the docks to work aboard his ship, 'The White Plume'. Soon he had captured enough Cynthian ships and treasure to create an entire 'White Plume' armada. This armada quickly became the prieminent navel power on the Mod. He disciplined the local sailors into experienced navel warriors, devoutly loyal to him. Due to his 'royal' lineage and the great power he had ammased, Duke Hue was alloweed into the aristocratic ruling counsel of Platiglio.
Elsewhere: The High Priestess Doria gave birth to twins, the young Prince Gilorum, and the Princess Miranda. Several months afterwards, the Axe of Rholfard the Brave was recovered from deep within the ancient fortress, Axegrinder's Folly. Led by the Champions of Crom with information gleaned from the history disks recovered by the High Priestess Doria, the Axe was taken to the new city Martayne. With the recovery of Rholfard the Brave's Axe, geurilla fighters from throughout the Taliensen mountains began flocking to Martayne. Eventually, Goblin hordes poured forth to destroy the Dwarven infestation, only to find themselves beaten back for the first tyme. A great victory for the Dwarves; the Battle for Martayne was costly for both sides. The Goblin hordes were weakened and the Dwarves could have taken the upperhand in the war if they only had the manpower. Doria sent envoys to the Thrilltorian Empire for support, but the Humans denied them. Within a year, the Goblins had regained the upper hand. Anti-Human sentiment began to grow in Martayne.
Approximately eight years after the boundry had been resealed, the police forces in Platiglio are taken over by the White Plume forces. Duke Hue runs Platiglio from behind the scenes. The aristocracy's council remaines in place, but everyone knows they only have the power that the Duke allows them.
Mages were given the option to leave the city or be arrested. There was resistance at first, but the White Plume forces had grown very powerful by this tyme and a great many mages dissappeared in the night. Rumour had it that the Duke planned on getting rid of magick-using Priests as well, not knowing or not caring about the difference between them and the Magus. Many temples chose to leave the city. Rumour also had it that Tamron Hue planned on seperating Platiglio from the Thrilltorian Empire, even that he planned on annexing the frontier lands -- But Tamron Hue made every public appearance to swear alliegence to the Empire, including sending an entire White Plume battalion to Thrilltor, "as a gift" to his Emminence.
Elsewhere: The Cynthians had been watching with great interest the developements in the frontier lands. Rumour had it that White Wolf himself, the leader of the Cynthian rebellion, had spoken to Tamron Hue, but the contents of that conversation, if it even existed, were unknown to everyone.
The Dwarves had reached a stalemate with the Goblins, each undermanned to wage overt war against each other. Sabatoge and guerilla warfare spread throughout the Taliensen mountains.
Prince Gilorum and Princess Miranda had grown into the perfect dwarven ideals. Both displayed thier parent's freakish strength. Gilorum had obviously inherited his father's charisma and leadership, while Miranda had her mother's intellegence. Both had been schooled by the Chancillor of History, James of Platiglio who had managed to unravel about half of the information contained in the history disks recovered by Doria.
The Elves in Elliel had also been watching with interest the developments in the frontier. The expulsion of mages from Platiglio by the White Plume forces worried the Elven Parliament. Security along the border became tighter and trade relations between Thrilltor and Andor became strained from the extra precations that the Elves had installed.
Approximately fifteen years after the boundry had been resealed, Tamron Hue had been named the Provincial Lord of the Empire's newest Provence; the Duke of Drakon's Rest ... the old Elven name for the frontier lands. White Plume forces are now garrisoned in every town in the old frontier lands, replacing any local constables or guard. Magery is outlawed in Drakon's Rest. Many Priest have also left the area, as White Plume troops are often indescriminate in thier witch hunts. The Order of the White Plume had offices throughout the Empire beyond Drakon's Rest as well, but thier authority didn't extend past the provence lines. However, they often volunteer themselves as assistance to any local guard or police force. Thus, even though the White Plume forces have no authority outside of Drakon's Rest, thier philosophy and reach extends far beyond. Magick users are careful not to advertise thier presence around White Plume garrisons, even beyond Drakon's Rest, lest ghosts in White come for them in the night.
Elsewhere: Several battles errupt as Cynthian forces attempt to move into Khrand's Grab. Few of the Orc warriors, as well as the Deldorath hunting parties that assisted them escape and those that do tell horrible stories. Rumours begin to spread even to the Elven cities of Cynthian super soldiers that were not quite human. Rumour had it that these soldiers fought to the death and never fled the field of battle. Freakish in size and ferocity, the Orcs named these soldiers E-Ban, the Dreaded Ones.
The Elves had initiated patrols and guardhouses along all roads leading across the Grey River. Several clashes have occured between White Plume forces and Elven soldiers. Duke Hue denies ordering these attacks and claimes to have severely reprimanded the commanders and troops responsible, however no evidence of these reprimands exist. Elven envoys sail accross the Mod to talk with the Emperor at Thrilltor, but as long as the incidences were minour and Duke Hue claimed to have repremanded the forces responsible, the Emperor refuses to take any action.
