THE LONG JOURNEY HOME
Earth is 7,926.4 miles in diameter.
Earth is ninety-three million miles from the sun.
Earth is about four and a half billion years old.
The earth has a lot of living things on it such as animals, plants, trees, and humans.
Earth has over five billion human being living on it.
Many other planets do not have anything living on them.
Without life there would be no free oxygen.
Earth is located between Venus and Mars, which is why it is known as the third planet away from the sun.
71 Percent of the Earth's surface is covered with water.
Earth is the only planet on which water can exist in liquid form on the surface.
The earth has seven continents, which are placed on seven fluctuating plates.
These plates, when they rub together, cause the earth to shake.
HAVING FUN YET
WE ARE GETTING CLOSER
As the 3rd largest continent, North America contains 9.1 million sq. miles.
Population consists of 360 million inhabitants, and was named after Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian navigator, in 1497.
North America holds two main mountain ranges, including the Appalacians and the Rockies; the highest point being on Mt. McKinley (20,320 ft. above sea level), the lowest in Death Valley (-280 ft. below sea level).
North America is also home to the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior.
This map shows the particular area in North America we are headed.
We are getting closer and closer to that beautiful Bitterroot Valley in Western Montana.
Well we have arrived at the United States of America and here we have a map of all the states except for Alaska & Hawaii.
I am sure you can see Montana quite well but let us point it out anyway.
Well you can see that Helena is the capital of this state.
Helena is only 100 miles from our destination.
Not bad for starting in outer space--huh?
Now---just a little further.
