Have a look and enjoy! Please note that
some of these pictures were taken shortly
after installation so the grass, plants, etc.
have yet to grow back in.

Have I mentioned digging? Yep, alot of digging.
The hole that you see here was dug in blue clay. Yuck!

The rubber liner and other accessories such as the pump
were purchased at Home Depot in Ottawa. The rubber liner
is layed down on top of a felt gasket which helps protect it.
The liner is installed in one piece.

Well just about there!
One of the hardest things about building this water garden was
finding flat stone. It can be purchased, but I prefer the natural look.

I wanted a natural-looking way to introduce the water back into
the pond so I built a rock waterfall. At the cresent of the
waterfall is an old fashioned hand pump which continually pours
a natural amount of water.

The total time to build this pond including digging was about 40 hours.
But when you are sitting out on the deck and you hear the soothing sound
of running water, it makes it all worth while. If you would like information
regarding designing & building your own water garden, drop me a line.

These are more recent pictures of the pond.
