My Lancaster Family Line
Historically, my branch of the Lancaster family appears to have originated in the parishes of Gisburn and Paythorpe in the Ribble Valley, (now partly in Yorkshire and Lancashire).
My branch moved to Slaidburn before 1750 and then to Dunsop Bridge.
Later they were also found domiciled further afield in Blackburn, Accrington, and , and as far as Liverpool, Lancashire.
Today there are known branches Lancashire, Australia and New Zealand.
An examination of the early records shows that distinct family lines existed before c1600, in the Ribble Valley area.
Thus we get the following family line:
Personally, I have done very little work on the Lancaster family lines other than Lancaster of Blackburn.
