Extended Family
Great Great Grandparents:
Stephen's Grandfather Francesco and
Great Grandfather Angelo
Back row, center: Stephen's Great Grandfather Angelo Pasqualino,
known to have been an adopted orphan. He married Margaret Gervace in Italy
and had five children: Clara, Teresa, Joseph, Marina, and Francesco. When
Angelo died, the five settled in New York.
To the left (Angelo's right) is his son Joseph.
To the right (Angelo's left) is his son, Stephen's Grandfather,
Francesco (Frank).
Angelo owned a construction business and ran it with his sons.
The three young men in the front row were their workers.
Daughter Clara had wanted to become a nun. She took two vows
in Italy and received the name Maria. In the U.S. she wasn't allowed her
3rd vow, apparently since she couldn't speak English. Though she never entered
a convent, she never married and lived, instead, like a nun. She was well-loved,
and was always called "Aunt Sister Maria."
