Pepsi, Cola & SpriteThis were my rowdy crowd.....*S* Råttis was their fatherr, and their mother was Lillan. Lillan died when we were almost 5 weeks old. They had a sister too, Fanta who you can read about on another page. Our father Råttis raised us, he was a very kind, sweet and wise dad. We lived with him until he died last year. Theese guys sure liked to have fun, and were always up to do something rowdy. Once, they were running in the bedrom while i was surfing on the Internet. Sprite got a little bored, because Cola and Pepsi was playing hide and seek, and Sprite got tired of that. He wantedme to cuddle him, so he decided to chew off the telephone cable! Their favorite food is sunflower seeds, millet seeds and cucumber. What they liked most was when were alllowed to run around inmy bedroom. There's a lot of hidingplaces, and other fun stuffs. The quilt on my bed was fun, there's a whole in it (Trixi did it, great idea!) so they could crawl inside the quilt and hide. And there's a lot of pillows to crawl under. And there's two baskets, where she has some magazines, they were great to hide in, and if they got t bored, they could always chew on the magazines..... NOTE: Unfortunately none of them are among us now. Råttis died 1999 and Cola dieddescember 2000, after a bad respiratory infection....Sprite got a to,our in the cheek, and died from that springtime 2001, Pepsi died later that summer of an scent gland tumour. |
Pappsen (Råttis)Råttis was an Golden Argente male, and Lillans' mate. After Lillans' death, he fostered his four children by himself. And he did a very good job! He was a very kind, sweet and wise little gerbil. He was very indulgant towards his sons' all mischiefs. He was very easy to handle. He loved to run around at the coach, and to eat baby cerials, millet-seeds, and crackers. Unfortunatelly he died 8/2 1999. Maybe he is together with Lillan in gerbil Heaven now! Of course we miss him very, very much! |
Humle & DumleMy two little angels.... |
Festis & FantaFestis was a grey agouti, and Fant awas a dove. Fanta was from the
same litter as Pepsi, Cola and Sprite. They lived toghether in a nice
aquarium, where they could burrow a lot. One of their favourite sportswas
to hide the fooddish from me. It seemed to be fun to watch me seek for
it! Sometimes i couldn´t find it, and had to give them a new one!

KLASKlas was a rowdy little mouse, and so sweet....He was always longing for company, and always up for some mischiefs. At first, he lived togehter with Knut i a tank,he got ill and died from a tumour. He was always climbing on something, and a really great jumper! If you was passing the table where he often was allowed to run around, he wasn't late to take the chance to jump towards you, getting hooked in your sweater and climbed up to your shoulder....As all mice he was very fond of all kind of food, and he also took every opportunity he had to jump down to the floor. My dog Sissy, took it as her very special task to keep an eye on him , i think, she alwyas had full control over him, and if he jumped down from the table, she tracked him down, and got our attention on it. She was always very fond of Klas.... |
KNUTKnut was a little darkbrown pet mouse. He was a little rascal, always with a glint in the eye. He liked to collect things, like bunpapers, erasers, threads, icecream sticks, and everything else that looks funny, and may be useful. Every morning he ate breakfast with me. When i got up from bed, he was already sitting on his ladder, wating for me to open the tank. He loved toast with a little butter on, so mostly i gave him that. IHe also liked Cottage cheese, and yoghurt too. Popcorn was another favorite. He was a bit shy but, we two were very special friends...he was never afraid or shy to me. I was the only one he allowed to put a hand in the cage, without biting. But if anyone else do that, they could get a little bite in a finger! Not so hard, just as hard as they knew i don't like to be disturbed. He like to sit on my shoulder, when i worked with her computer, and watched what i was doing. Healso like to hide behind my r hair in the neck, and tickle me with my tail.....Besides Trixi, i think i miss him most of all my pets..... |
LILLANShe died when she was giving birth to her second litter. She was a
great mom to Cola, Sprite, Fanta and Pepsi, and a wonderful
mwife to Råttis. She also was a |
META & LOTTEN
The reason i bought them, was that they were kind of "left over" in the pet shop. They were born w 28, and had been in the shop for almost 3 months. No one seemed to want them, and the shop had even put a lower prize on them. The other, younger gerbs were sold all the time. So, i couldn't help buying them! I can't imagine why no one wouldm't have such sweet beauties as theese two??? Well, here at "The Gerbil House" , we wanted them and they were loved! How did i see the distinction between them? Meta had just a little white-face under the chin, while Lotten's white-face was narrowing to a thin stripe, that reached down at her belly. She also had a white spot at each front paw. Both of them were very alert and not afraid at all. Lotten was bit more shy than Meta, liked to cuddle on my arm, or sit under my hair in the neck. They were very social and friendly, and i'm amazed how fast they adjusted to their new home. Meta died in 2003, from a stroke, and lotten died shortly after, i´m not sure why, maybe she just missed Meta that much...?? |
MUSSE PIGGGuess who he got his name from? |
