Oriental pictures and pedigrees
The Oriental Shorthairs have been around for nearly thirty years officially (and who know how long unofficially….). Many people know the brown Havana or the black Ebony but few people know that there are several hundred color combinations possible. There are the solid colors (black and red), the diluted colors (blue and cream), modifiers (Chocolate and Cinnamon) and their diluted colors (Lilac and Fawn). Mix these up and you already have quite some colors, add some tabby markings (there are four: classic, mackerel, spotted and ticked) and you are over the first hundred. Now add the silver gene or the piebald white spotting gene and there are several hundreds.

There may be quite some color combinations possible but breeders should always remember that type is much more important than color. What good is a Lilac Silver Torbie and white if the type is that of an British Shorthair. The basic Oriental type is that of the Siamese, a sleek, long body and elegant fine legs. The tail should long and thin and the coat should be short.
Dbl.Ch. Sweet Cats Once in a Blue Moon
This blue Oriental female is bred by Annemarie Huybrechts.
Bluey's sire is GIC.Longview HeHasTheLook (seal tabby point Siamese) and her dam is Ch.Cuba Libre of the Sweet Cats (Havana).
Shown four times Bluey is a double Champion. Both in FIFe and non-FIFe she gained her Championship. She was Best in Show two times, nominated four times and Best in Breed three times. She lives up to her name as she is truly a "Once in a Blue Moon" cat.
Sweet Cats Simply Irresistible
"Siri" is a very rare Lilac spotted tabby Oriental female. Born in a litter of five she was the only one of this color. Her brother, Sweet Cats Oriental Ambassador, came close being a Lilac but lacked the tabby markings.
This cat is the most vocal of the Noah's Ark cats, she never shuts up. Like her mom and siblings she always puts her two pennies in. She also sticks her, very long, nose in stuff that is none of her business, but her sweet and mischievous nature make up for a lot of things
