Mason listed as a boarder in Hardin county Census living with James Henry Pedigo and his wife Mary Stader Pedigo who took Mason in when Sally Washer moved to California with her grandchildren (1890 census)
After marriage to Bertha in 1900 they moved to Kansas where their son Henry was born in 1901 and they returned to Ky. shortly after.
After marriage to Nina in 1915 they moved to Miss. but returned to Ky. in 1916.
Mason was a farmer until 1915 and then a carpenter and maintenance man the remainder of his life.

Obediah B. 1785.

Grandfather died in 1786 and family moved to Wilkes CO. N.C. Aft 1786

Father died in 1800 and family moved to Barren Co. Ky. abt. 1802.

Obediah left State for fear of going to jail and visited with a Alfred Crawford
in Alabama during June 1822 but had returned by Court Day in Aug 1823.

Allen Co. day book 1826-1837 March 1834 Orders road upkeep from Scottsville Rd. to Bowling Green begining at Sulpher Lick to County line.
Named: Willoughby, Cagle, Subpoena, Hill, Johnson, Smith, Obey Owens and hands, Motely,Nichols, Abraham Owens etc. (15' wide)

Same day book June 1836 road upkeep from Bays Fork to Motely Mill, named
Ayres, Duggit,Obey Owens, Coleman, Johnson, Weatherspoon, Enoch Cagle, Lynn, Hezekiah Landers who was a deacon at Bethal Babtist Church and
married many of the Owens along with the minister, Younger Weatherspoon.

As you may notice Obediah lived in a different location during each census,
1810 Warren (later Allen), 1820 Warren co, 1830 Allen Co. 1840 a different
location, 1840 Allen Co, yet another location and 1850 Warren Co. These different locations are proved by the neighbors being different in each census.

Also the 1810 census shows a female age under 10 but no futhur record is shown in any other census. Must have died at a early age.

Brackett owned 400 acres of land on Mountain Creek and 370 on the west side of Bush River which he sold in 1784 and moved to Shelby Co. Ky.
Brackett was the administrater of his fathers will.
Served in the Revolutionary war, as a Colonel.
Land was given him for his service in the war. Land Grant 773 1334 acres
Owen Station was built on east side of Shelbyville and his little fort contributed much to the settlement of the area.
The first church in Shelby County was constituted in 1785 at Owen Station.
Brackett's will dated Dec 15 1801, the executors of his estate, T.J. Gwin a son in law and his son Abraham. Witness by William Lively and Ann Bainbridge.
Brackett's home still standing in Shelbyville, and in good condition built about 1798, and I visited in 1995 on 7Mile Pike off Highway 53 during the Owen family Assn. reuniion in Sept.

First moved to Calloway Co. at age 22 from Barren Co. Setled on a tract of land for about 2 years, selling, and moved to Ballard Co. He took up his abode near the village of Cunningham, but later moved to a farm near Spring Hill. and here he spent many years, devoting his attention to agricultural pursuits with creditable and gratifying seccess. His wife Garthenia known as "Gettie" was a daughter of Jarrett Willingham, a pioneer and settler of Hickman Co. Garthenia died in 1844, leaving 3 children and Thomas long survived his wife and died at the home of his son Dr. Owen in Arlington on the 22 Dec. 1888. Both were laid to rest in the family graveyard upon the old home farm near Spring Hill. The were ardent and faithful members of the Missionary Babtist Church. and for many years th father was a noteable and prominent citizen of this region. Owen Family: Capt. C.C. Owen, a resident of Taney Co. Mo. came with his family down from St. Clair Mo. in 1870 and located on Shoal Creek near one and one half miles south of the town of Protem.
He and his wife are resting in the graveyard at Protem. Capt Owen hunted with his small son George in 1870 and with an old friend Jim Ewing.
