Spring 1998 Camporee

May 15, 16, and 17, 1998

Westfield Sportsmen's Club, Westfield, MA

This was a great weekend. Weatherwise we couldn't have asked for better, except for maybe that the rain hold off just 1 more hour on Sunday morning. The boys spent the day on Saturday around the grounds doing such activities as Shotgun Shooting, Archery, Hatchet Throwing, Pioneering, and there was a Cooking Demo.
Troop 424 came out of the day with ribbons for Model Campsite, Hatchet Throwing, and a Scout Spirit Award for backpacking into the campsite on Friday afternoon.
When not doing program stuff, fishing was the activity of choice. For all the boys... even the older ones.... Here we see Mr. G. showing that there ARE trout in this pond.
