The following pictures were taken close to our home in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Please note the center of the Cibalo creek is about a mile and half from our house and the creek peaked at 44.9 feet above normal elevation. These pictures were taken at the peak of the flood.
I believe it was by the grace of God that so few were harmed during this flood, also, I believe this is a wake up call from the Lord. Praise the Lord and His wisdom. Let us remember that the Lord should be number one in our lives.
For the
love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which many have
strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee
these things and pursue rightousness, godliness, faith, love,
patience, gentleness.
1 Tim 6:10-11
The view of our neighbors house from outside our driveway
A little closer to the neighbor's house
A view from the road, notice the water is almost in their door,
their door is about 2 feet from the ground. In this picture the
water looks calm, it is not.
As you can see the water is moving fairly fast!
A view down our road
This picture and the next are the other direction down our road
A familiar sign in the area, the first day it was almost
impossible to leave the area, the next day was difficult but
could be done by truck
The following pictures were taken the next day after the waters had subsided substantially
Notice the turbulent flow of water through the culvert
Another turbulent area
Notice the large round bails thrown to the back of the
field
Just a little water over the road, but, too much for my small car
